Pocarto: Participatory mapping to deconstruct prejudices
Pocarto was a project of sensitive and participatory mapping carried out in the communes of Marquette-lez-Lille and Saint-André-lez-Lille, as well as on the site of the Public Mental Health Institution (EPSM) of the Lille agglomeration. Carried by the association InterphazThe aim of the project was to promote exchanges, deconstructing prejudice and strengthen the territorial anchoring of EPSM through a mental health approach. collaborative design.
Project objectives
Pocarto had several objectives:
- Collaborative approach : It involved school audiences, associations, residents and professionals in the co-creation of a collective mapping.
- Deconstructing prejudices : Using educational and creative tools, the project encouraged discussions about mental health.
- Territorial anchoring : He integrated EPSM into the daily lives of the inhabitants.
- Rediscovered territory Pocarto has proposed thematic routes to enhance the territory.
Residence and actors
Association Interphaz coordinated the project, with the participation of Cyril Edet, urban planner, and Yasmeen Tizgui, designer. Together, they led workshops and walks to mobilize locals and develop collaborative tools. The aim was to create a paper and digital card, accompanied by an educational case, to ensure the continuation of the project beyond the residence.
Pocarto was able to mobilize the local community to create a collective mapping While changing perceptions about mental health, and fully integrating EPSM into the daily lives of the inhabitants.

Associations Interphaz and Nasdac have collaborated to create a participatory tourist map of the neighbourhoods Lives and Hellemmes. This project also gave rise to an artistic and cultural map called Cart.
These two neighbourhoods, rich in significant cultural heritage, are at the heart of a vast urban rehabilitation project, thus strengthening the identity of the city of Lille. The aim of this initiative is to: promoting heritage cultural and immaterial neighbourhoods, involving the inhabitants. This includes historical buildings, frescoes, artisans and galleries.
This map, co-built with the local population, aims to accompany the transformation of the wasteland Fives-Cail Babcock, while telling the small and big stories of these neighborhoods, and encouraging visitors discover these dynamic and evolving places.
