Throughout the month, resident·es, curious·his, young, professional·and families are invited·to participate in a rich and free programming accessible to all: debates, workshops, urban walks, festive events, intercultural meetings or exchange time around European issues and the European citizenship.
This programming is fully in line with the national dynamics of month of Europe 2026 with sound European agenda dense, and in the Feast of Europe, celebrated throughout the European Union.
A living Europe, close to you
In a constantly changing international context, this edition highlights a Europe in action, in motion and in transformation, through European local initiatives throughout the MEL, with actions anchored in the territory.
Mobility, citizen engagement, European cultures, ecological transitions,Citizens' Europe or critical mindset: all the themes that go through the proposed events, in a logical wayeducation in Europe and awareness raising.
The program is very good:
- to European youth mobility and routes European volunteering
- intercultural meetings in Europe and exchanges between inhabitants
- on topical European and European issues citizen participation
- local initiatives that make Europe live daily in Upper France, and in the Lille Metropolis
Highlights not to be missed
This edition 2026 is marked by emblematic events of the European cultural programme.
On 9 May, on the occasion of Europe Day, the Europe Day 2026 will host the Coffee of Europe, a temporary and travelling installation proposed by the Liaison Office of the European Parliament in France, which takes place in Lille as part of its national tour. A space for dialogue and exchanges around a café open to all, in the heart of the city.
Another highlight of programming is the dissemination of the Public LUX Prize 2026proposed by the City of Lille on 21 May. He will honour European cinema and its gaze on contemporary issues on the continent.
Collective programming
The Nice European Month is coordinated by Interphaz Europe Direct in a dynamic of territorial cooperation, with many associative, institutional, educational and cultural actors of the territory involved in the European MEL associative initiatives.
This edition illustrates a particularly strong dynamic of local European cooperation, sometimes between structures that are not used to working together. This is precisely one of the strengths of the Jolie Mois de l'Europe: building bridges, bringing together initiatives and strengthening the European citizen dialogue, developing meet.
It also makes it possible to propose free events in Lille and around, throughout May 2026and to promote the Youth events Europe Lillepublic debates and awareness-raising.
